This year, SIDS and Kids SA are celebrating their 45th year of service provision in education and bereavement support to the South Australian Community. This is a huge milestone reflecting the integrity of the work SIDS and Kids SA do.

We are looking for 45 SIDS SA ‘Community Leaders’ to represent the families who we are currently supporting in their journey of grief.  Each time a new referral comes through to our SIDS SA Counsellors, we will call out for another Community Leader to support our Organisation.  Let’s be the difference in providing hope and a path of healing for the Bereaved Families of 2022.

As a SIDS SA Community Leader, we ask that you:

  • Attend an information session at SIDS and Kids SA (Zoom or in person – Covid dependent)

  • Hold a minimum of one fundraising activity or event benefiting SIDS and Kids SA

  • Join the fundraising efforts of our “Be Bold. Wear Red for SIDS and Kids SA or Wear Red Instead” Campaign through taking a splash of red into your workplace and hosting a morning tea or afternoon drinks.

  • Raise a total of $300 to directly support SIDS and Kids SA Bereavement Crisis Response Support Program.

As a SIDS SA Community Leader, you will receive:

  • SIDS and Kids SA Red Shirt to wear for the duration of your Community Leadership.

  • A Community Leaders Badge to wear to your personally planned fundraising event.

  • Use of the SIDS and Kids SA Logo for all your Community Fundraising documentation and advertising.

  • A QR Code to share with your network of supporters to accept donations for your fundraiser or event. (No money handling required!)

  • Invitation to our SIDS and Kids SA “Thank You Wine and Cheese Night “

  • The support and assistance of the Community Liaison Manager.

But most importantly, by becoming a SIDS SA Community Leader you will be making an incredible difference to the many families who experience the sudden and unexpected loss of a child through supporting them in their initial stages of grief and trauma.  This support is invaluable and can make a difference in their choice to live and transition back into society and work.

Funds raised from the SIDS SA Community Leader Program will directly support our SIDS and Kids SA Bereavement Crisis Response Support Program. This Program ensures that families are offered the support needed in the first 72 hours of experiencing their loss and journeying with the family as they learn to function and re-enter the work force and society.
